Trigono is a newly established municipality in the Evros Prefecture, Greece with a population 6,656 (2001).
It is fixed to South by river Arda and borders North-easternly on Turkey and to North and North-westernly on Bulgaria.
Constitutes strategic point of expense Balkan and of countries to the Aegean via the harbour of Alexandroupolis.
It resulted from the conjunction of 10 communities: Arzos, Dikaia, Elaia, Komara, Ormenio, Pentalofo, Petrota, Plati,
Ptelea, Spilaio and 7 settlements: Dilofos, Therapeio, Canada, Krios, Marasja, Milea and Palli.
Dikaia is the seat of Municipality, that are found near the vertical axis of Egnatias of Road Alexandroupoli -
Ormenio and abstains 150 km from the capital of Prefecture - Alexandroupolis and by the capital of country -
Athens 1061 km. The total extent of Municipality of Triangle amounts in 372 tetr. km (that is to say 8,75% of Prefecture) and his population in 6.656 residents (inventory 2001).
The first authorities were elected in October 1998.
Composition Of Population
The demographic composition of villages of Triangle constitutes alloy from refugees of Notherner and the Eastern Thrace (with the exchanges of populations to1922) and local population.
Demographic

Employment
The region of Triangle is mostly rural. The main employment of residents is the agriculture. In the northern region, are cultivated mainly cereals, cotton and sunflower. In the southern region - hard/tender wheat, sunflower, cotton, maize, beets and asparagus. The livestock-farming almost has been disappeared.
Providence
The Trigono Municipality materialises the program of ministry of Health "Help in the House", that concerns the organised and systematic care in solitary and economically feeble individuals (mainly old men as well as in individuals with infirmities). Also, in collaboration with the National Organism of Providence, it materialises model program of feeding for old individuals, serving until this moment 45 individuals. Function also, three Clubs of Old men (CENTRE FOR ELDERLY CITIZENS).
Health
In the sector of health the residents are served by a Centre of Health and three regional surgeries.
Education
The situation in the education has in the following way: 4 Kindergartens with 60 students. 3 Municipal Schools with 170 students. 1 High school/Lyceum with 130 students.
Cross-Border Collaboration
The Municipality of Triangle exploiting his strategic geographical place, between two states, Bulgaria and Turkey, overwhelms continuous efforts to develop relations of good neighbourhood, friendship and collaboration with Municipalities of two states. Result, the signature of 5 Protocols of Cross-border Collaboration with adjacent Municipalities of Bulgaria –Svilengrad, Harmanli, Lioubimetz, Madjarovo, Elhovo – in sectors of common interest (Economic Collaboration, Employment, Environment, Culture, Sports, Tourism, Education, Youth).
Culture
The Municipal Beginning develops exceedingly the historical way of Triangle of many centuries, giving a new impulse in cultural events the region. It develops a extensive cultural activity – it organises events, lectures, seminars, it participates in Festivals of interior and abroad, it tries it records, it elects the local delivery of Triangle and him it connects with today. Organise joint, with associations of region the local traditional customs – "Tryfonas" at Dikaia, "Basileas" at Petrota, "Bey" at Elaia and Komara etc. Each year the first 10 days of August participate in the Municipal organisation of European Festival of Traditional Dances with name “Europe and Tradition - Meeting in Evros”, with the attendance of many of folklore groups. Municipal Band is present. The presence of Band is intense, with attendance in parades, local feasts, litanies and generally in each cultural activity of Municipality. Municipal Library is available in village Arzos, which is included in pilot Program of Ministry of Culture for the “promotion of reading and the modernisation of libraries in the Prefecture Evros”. The collection of Library includes 8.000 volumes of books. Also, it has been enriched with electronic and audiovisual material. Organises at the same time reports of book in collaboration with editorial houses etc. It develops Programs of Mass Sports, creating departments of traditional dances with a view to it rescues and it propagates the local traditional dances and songs.
Tourism
The existence the intact natural and cultural heritage of region of Triangle leads the new Municipal Beginning to the promotion of economic model supported to the growth of said “of alternative” forms of tourism (ecotourism, agro-tourism, cultural tourism, religious tourism etc). Objective is created initially infrastructures for the service of system of cultural-congress-religious tourism, via European and National Programs.
